Two of the most cited reasons for car commuters being sceptical on smaller vehicles like bikes, scooters and motorcycles are safety and weather. But the Nimbus One with its fully-enclosed design and car-like safety features is trying to solve both of those issues at once. That’s the big idea, the Nimbus One combines the convenience and cost of a motorbike with the safety and comfort of a car.
Wheelab has met the Nimbus development team at the early stages of their project, when the first Proof of Concept (PoC) vehicle had to be turned into a full spec demonstration prototype for investors, trade shows, press presentations as well as customer trials.
With its strong focus on innovative urban mobility vehicles and especially on 3-wheel leaning vehicles, Wheelab supported the development of 3D styling (CAS) of exteriors and interiors, vehicle layout, cabin ergonomics, front and rear light groups, plus the engineering of door systems, seat installation, removable batteries system.
The process included the construction of several loops of static mock-up refinement, extensive use of Virtual Reality for early styling and ergonomics development.
Finally, Wheelab took to life the fully functional show quality prototype, showcased for the first time at Micromobility Show 2022 in San Francisco, California.
